What to Expect in Treatment
Pelvic floor therapy often includes a comprehensive assessment, which may involve both external and internal components. Internal exams, performed with your full informed consent, allow a licensed therapists to assess muscle tone, strength, trigger points, and coordination. These exams can be crucial in identifying the root causes of dysfunction that aren’t always visible or palpable externally. Internal exams are not required.
Internal treatment, when appropriate and with client consent, may involve manual techniques to release tension, retrain muscles, and assist in restoring optimal function. We always prioritize your comfort, boundaries, and autonomy—you are in control of your care at every step.
Other treatment modalities may include:
Biofeedback
Guided breathwork and relaxation techniques
Therapeutic exercise and movement retraining
Myofascial release and soft tissue mobilization
Lifestyle and posture coaching
